  • The Purple Food Diet: There had been so much talk on having a rainbow of foods on your plate - a group of "colours" of certain fruit signifying certain benefits. Of these, purple foods are perhaps the most significant as it is a fact that the darker the food, the higher the antioxidant level. Antioxidants can prevent cell damage, and keep you one looking younger. Surveys have also shown that adults who eat purple fruits and vegetables have reduced risk for both high blood pressure and low HDL cholesterol (the "good" kind!) and they are less likely to be overweight. Plus they also say " a plum a day keeps the face-lifts away" and that alone is enough to get you started today ! Eggplants, purple grapes, figs, plums, dark cherries, raisins, purple cabbage are all candidates. Include them into your diet at least 4-5 times a week or even better, eat only purple food 2 days each week, and enjoy the results !   
  • How to get rid of (or hide) a hickey: Whether you got caught up in the moment, or didn't even realize it was happening, most people will regret the telltale bruise of a hickey that they are left with after the fact. If you want to try and get rid of a hickey as quickly as possible or at the very least make it less noticeable, here are some things you can try: 1. Using concealer might be the best way to try to cover or hide a hickey. You might want to try and put a green eye shadow on the area first which will help neutralize the purplish bruise before applying the concealer. Pick a yellow concealer that matches your skin tone as closely as possible. Do not go crazy on the application however, otherwise it might bring even more attention to the area. Also be sure to carry the eye shadow and concealer around with you so you can keep reapplying, because the makeup will eventually wear off  2. Purchase Vitamin K that comes in a cream form and keep reapplying to the area. This can also help reduce the darkened skin and help the hickey heal quicker  3. Applying a warm moist tea bag can also help get rid of a hickey. Keep re-warming it and re-wetting the tea bags and applying until you see a significant change  4. Just like any bruise you can try massaging it out to help break up the blood clots. Massaging it with a cold spoon (put in the freezer for a few minutes) can help make the bruise less noticeable

  • Fish Oil for amazing skin and hair and heart (if you still care...) and . . . : It took me a while, but i came to realize that mainly, our inadequate diet caused our premature aging. . .  If I change my car's oil every few thousand miles faithfully, why am I not giving my body the oil it needs to function properly?! Our bodies rely on food to supply Omega-3 so do yourself a favor, start taking fish oil! Omega 3 is necessary for our general health and unless we are consuming a couple pounds per week of deep ocean fish (salmon, sardines) we are all in need of omega 3 supplementation. So, I guess I have a little O.C.D. when it comes to taking supplements on daily basis. I am very leery of the claims made by the hundreds of products in the market - so I did some research. (Cause if you are going to take such a supplement every day for the rest of your life, how can you be sure you are not getting dangerous toxins in the fish?)  So at first, I noticed that among Highest 5-Star Rated IFOS certified oil - LIFE EXTENSION SUPER OMEGA 3 product was the lowest priced - high quality product. . . especially, compared to other 5-Star Rated fish oils! (IFOS is what separates the "Best" from all the "Others" that you might find at supermarkets). Plus : these pills are easy to swallow, even though they are quite large, and have no fishy taste or smell, nor do they cause any fishy burping ! Highly recommended ! Oh, and keep it on your dining room table so that you don't forget to take it !

  •  morocan oil:  In general, I'm not a fan of silicones in hair care products. But this one is different, since it will make your hair soft, silky, shiny, and less frizzy. It really helped heal my hair. I have natural dry, brittle, curls that are easily damaged by heat. I use curling irons and flat irons and blow dryers all the time. All the heat has a huge effect on the shine and texture of my hair and my ends split very fast. I use this oil all over my hair. Not only does it replenish the shine and fight frizz as well as healing the heat damage, it also helps curling irons and flat irons to be more effective on my hair. My hair will take a different shape easier and stay that way with the aid of this oil! Although my stylist told me to put it in while my hair was wet, I opted to put it in once it was 80% dry, that way I knew I could combat any potential frizz. I usually apply this in my towel dried hair, making sure to rub my hands together to warm it up. It doesnt weigh my hair down or make it greasy. You can also mix it with another serum or a cream leave in conditioner!


  •  luminescent complexion enhancer: Benefit High Beam is an ethereal pink liquid highlighter that creates a radiantly dewy complexion. This must-have pink shimmering lotion adds a soft, natural afterglow that just makes you look a little bit better! It can be applied wherever you want, but i would recommend to use just 1-2 drops on your apple cheeks, underneath your eyebrows and on your inner eye corners to make them look bigger! (in Greece its available only at Sephora i think...)


  •  summer scent while sleeping: "aromatherapy" inspired the following tip...we all love the summer sunscreen and lotion smells! Use the Hei Poa Multiusage Butter on your lips before going to bed... Besides the ultimate lip hydration while sleeping, you are gonna smell "summer" all night long! (extra tip: brush your lips with your toothbrush before you aply the balm. It will exfoliate them and make them softer) (in Greece the full range of Hei Poa is available mainly at Beautyworks stores)


  •  water against cellulite: Drink at least 8 glasses of water in order to hydrate your system and fight cellulite! Special expensive creams dont work, mesotherapy doesnt work, massages dont work. Water is the only semi-cure for cellulite... that and good lighting and photoshop!

  •  nail tip: Massaging your fingertips with vitamin E before bed will strengthen them. Try Eviol vitamin E tablets. And dont forget your toe nails too!

  •   hand protection: Do you ever notice someone with very youthful skin on their face, but then you see the aging signs on their hands? Ok, besides the fact that its the only area where - as far as i know- they havent invented a plastic surgery "lifting" method YET, that also happens because most people spend lots of time on their face complexion, but forget the rest of their body...Take care of your hands! For example, when you drive they get exposed to the sun through your car windows, so try to apply a sunscreen moisturizer of at least SPF 15 not only on your face but on hair hands too! You can also apply just a bit of your night facial cream on your hands!

  •  cover your unwashed greasy hair: If you want to get rid of greasy hair, but you don't have time to wash it - ok dont admit it but we have al been there- give dry shampoo a go. The ingredients in this product soak up the oil quickly and freshen up your hair. Try Aveda Pure Abundance hair potion or Oscar Blandi Pronto dry shampoo. Or you can use baby powder as a cheap and easy alternative. Just sprinkle it on your roots, rub your head with a towel, and brush off! It really works... But still, dont forget to wash your hair the next day!

  •  home-made facial scrub: create your own facial scrub by adding sugar, salt, or oatmeal to your own favorite cleanser - they are abrasive enough to gently exfoliate without irritating the skin.

  •  anti-wrinkle pillow: Try to sleep on your back as much as possible...sleeping on your side and stomach can cause wrinkles. Either way, think about getting yourself an anti-wrinkle pillow. Silk and Satin are better than cotton. They are smoother and cause fewer of the sleep-lines that will eventually turn into wrinkles

  •  how to wash your hair AFTER you had your nails done: washing your hair after you had your nails done will either cause your nails to chip or loose its freshly polished brightness- even if you wash them 2-3 hours after your manicure! One effective solution is to wear latex examination gloves while washing your hair (and don't forget to put a small rubber on each of your wrist so that water and soap wont "enter" from the wrist area). After you finish your shower and you have applied all your facial and body creams etc, then take off the gloves and just rinse off with some water the talk left on your hands from the latex gloves. And you nails are saved!
